Behind the Line – Series 6 Scrapbook – Part I

6th Series / 6th Day Recap

With a little bit of a delay this morning as the judges got the final touches they wanted on this series, our first running dog #60 Oakley came to the line at 7:58 am. We had three gun changes lasting approximately about 10 minutes each time. 

Here is what this 6th Series Land Triple produced...

Our day came to an end with dog #59 Be bringing home her last bird at 4:36 pm. With 70 dogs starting this series we averaged 7.4 minutes per dog for a total of 8 hour 38 minutes.

6th Series / 6th Day - That's a Wrap

We did it!!! 

We got all 70 dogs to the line to take chance to complete the 6th Series. 

Our 6th day and 6th Series is officially in the books at 4:36 pm.

Flyer - The flyer was angled back down the low - tough bird. Be hunted above the flyer but finally got it. 

Middle - She came in under the arc for a loop down and grabbed her bird.

Left - Be drove up the hill to the gun station and looped left behind it then went straight to the bird. Nice Job team.

Flyer - Crash hunted a tight area and come up with the bird.

Middle - His line was left of the holding blind. Crash turned left in the cover and came out with the bird.

Left - His line up the hill was right of the holding blind. To the top, he looped left and back down to the bird.

Flyer: Tight hunt in the area of the full. Jenny was just above and came down  to get the bird. Good Job

Middle - She drove the hill slightly right of the bird. With a loop down she had it.

Left - Jenny drove out and went tot he right of the guns. She worked her way to the left and the bird cleanly without a big hunt. Good work.

Flyer - Bang went in the cover and drove to the top then came back down for his bird.

Middle - He went over the hill and quickly was back out with his bird.

Left - His line was way right uphill to the top. Bang curved left and made a few loops on top, but he worked his back down to get the bird.

Middle - Taking time to line up Hawk, Scott sends him and he his up the hill and jumps out of the cover strip with his bird.

Flyer - Goo flyer. Zeke made one quick loop in the cover and came out with the bird.

Middle - He drove straight towards the bird and got it.

Left - Zeke took a perfect line right at the bird. Pinned It. Great set of marks for this team.

Middle - Catch went up the hill left of the holding blind. At the top he turned left behind the cover going slightly downhill and he got his bird.

Flyer - Nice mark! Straight to the flyer.

Middle - Frazier drove up the hill off to the right. With a loop around to the left he went back for the bird.

Left - He drove out into the field bending slightly right. Frazier broke right to hunt and made several loops to the right. He then went to the left side of the holding blind and worked his way down for the bird.

Flyer - Gretta hunted away from the line, then up on the hill to the right. She was up high enough to wind the bird and get it.

Middle - Up to the holding blind, Gretta hunted behind the cover the down the hill to her bird.

Left - She climbed to the right of the holding blind to the top of the hill. Hunting back in forth, left then right, Gretta got out of sight. Coming into view, she was way at the top of the hill and had to be handled to the bird.

*Note: The wind is gusting out of the west.

Flyer - Very good recovery of the bird.

Middle - Tuck arrived in the area of the fall between the  gunners and the bird. Punching thru the cover strip, Tuck turns left and has the bird.

Left - A large circle on top of the hill and into the cover by the retired guns, Tuck goes back up high then down the hill for the bird.

Flyer - Good flyer, small hunt and Betty had the bird.

Middle - Good mark with a small loop to get her bird.

Left - Betty took a good line then broke right and climbed the hill. She took a left turn and went down the hill and recovered her bird.

Flyer - Low flyer that Jammer hunted for in the fall area and got it.

Middle - He went uphill and with three steps to the left he got his bird.

Left - Good initial line to the cover and beyond. Out of sight for a bit then reappears way up on the hill. Jammer came back to the holding blind, then back up to the top, then back for his bird.

We have been told that this (6th Series) will be the only test today. 

We will be back on the same Spangler property tomorrow for Seventh Series which will be a water test.
